Instead of creating the similar thin pie dish, Ike Sewell wanted to reinvent it. He crafted a thick crust pizza with a raised edge. He reversed the inclusion of ingredients by lining mozzarella slices on the dough, followed by the meat, veggies and topped with tomatoes. Sicilian Pizza

Sicilian pizzas, also known as sfincione, appear to look like its Chicago-style counterpart, but both have distinct differences that set them apart. It must also have a topping of tomato sauce, herbs, onions, bread crumbs and anchovies. Typically, restaurants and homes in Sicily serve this delicious concoction on holidays such as New Year’s Eve and Christmas.

New York Style

This type of pizza isn’t like the original, but is one of the most popular in the United States. Neapolitan and New York Pizzas share a lot of things in common, but they still have a few differences. To make the closest possible thing to an actual New York-style pizza, the crust needs to be thin, but is thick enough to fold a slice lengthwise. Toppings include anchovies, mushrooms, sausage and pepperoni.
